For Greaves Customers, “Made in USA” Means “Delivered on Time.”

Greaves’ broad U.S.-based manufacturing capabilities and nimble management keep customer orders moving and contractors working. Greaves understands the importance of supply chain control and flexibility, and pulls any and all levers within their grasp to meet the need at hand.
For many, the slogan “made in the USA” brings good feelings about a company’s priorities – homegrown ingenuity, local jobs, reliance on national resources, and maybe even company picnics on the Fourth of July.
But for Greaves and Greaves’ customers, it means much more. It means maintaining large inventories of ready-to-ship items that are not subject to international transport disruptions or the threat of cost fluctuations due to tariffs. It also means that custom orders and sudden spikes in demand for certain parts can be managed quickly on the factory floor, not through reliance on the ability of foreign players to respond.
And it means knowing that your supplier speaks your language, really listens, takes your concerns to heart, and will jump through hoops to bring about your satisfaction. This is the way Greaves operates.
Based in Connecticut, and supported by a national network of representatives, top-tier managers at Greaves think like engineers, not accountants. Unlike much larger competitors, there is less focus on spreadsheets and maintaining legacy business models, and more focus on creative problem-solving; truly understanding the challenges faced by customers who depend on a timely flow of the parts they need on the job.
Good faith and good communication spell success.
Greaves was challenged recently with simultaneous orders from several major data center construction projects seeking many thousands of a certain proprietary adapter. These orders could be met partially with a quantity already on inventory, and Greaves had the capability to ramp up production of 5,000 more per week.
Still, there was a need to arrange quick turnaround from suppliers to receive more of the copper feed stock necessary to make up the balance of the order.
Anticipating the possibility of delays, Greaves’ CEO Matt Strand collaborated with the customers to determine a schedule of split shipments that would sustain the pace of their construction work at multiple sites, while the balance of the total order was still being manufactured. Coordinating everything from the Greaves Centerbrook, Connecticut plant, the drop shipments were fast and free of charge, as always. For these customers, “Made in the USA” made all the difference.
